We’ve been there—managing clients in Airtable, automating tasks with Zapier, and hacking together web apps with whatever tool looked promising that week.

It worked… kinda. But it was messy, expensive, and frustrating.

So we ditched the hack-job setup and switched to one tool: Knack.

Knack lets you create a true relational database without writing a single line of code. We built a full CRM inside Knack, complete with:

  • Contacts table: Every client we work with, neatly organized

  • Orders table: Linked directly to client records

  • Notes & interactions: Automatically tied to the right contacts

  • Products & services: Everything we sell, all in one place

This setup means no more endless searching, no more disconnected data, and no more wondering, "Wait, where did we put that?"

2. Automations—without Zapier

You don’t realize how much time you waste until you stop doing repetitive tasks manually.

In our old setup, every new order had to be:

  • Manually logged into Airtable

  • Sent to Slack using a Zapier automation

  • Copied into another tool for tracking

Now Knack handles all of it.

We set up flows that automate everything inside the same platform:

For example, we set up:

A lead capture form that sends client details straight to our CRM

A project intake form that assigns new projects to the right team member automatically

Instead of duct-taping together a bunch of different form tools, everything lives inside one tool.

4. Web app builder
