The Company America’s Cattle Industry Needs Right Now

The U.S. cattle herd has fallen to 86.2 million head.

That's the lowest level since 1951. And the problem isn't going away, plus ranchers face rising costs and a tightening labor market.

Yet America still needs to produce beef.

The equation is simple: Get more from every animal.

DIT AgTech helps ranchers produce more with less through AI, nutrition automation and real-time data. Its infrastructure boosts herd performance while reducing labor and costs.

Proven at scale in Australia:

  • 500+ units deployed

  • 370,000 head on the platform

  • Up to 55% higher daily weight gain

  • Up to 80% reduction in supplementation and labor costs

What drives adoption? Ranchers get the technology free with a three-year nutrition plan.

Removing the cost barrier allows DIT AgTech to scale adoption faster, generating more data and recurring revenue

America needs more output from fewer cattle. DIT AgTech has built the infrastructure to make that possible.

CLAUDE GOT CHEAPER… & SMARTER

Earlier this month, Dario Amodei published an essay arguing AI progress should be paced so safety can keep up. Anthropic's first release since then? Claude Opus 5.5, which the company calls its new leading model.

Pacing, apparently, doesn't mean standing still.

Opus 5.5 performs at the level of Fable 5.1, the pricier tier that sits above Opus, on most work. On Anthropic's own benchmarks it beats Fable in agentic coding and knowledge work. And it costs less than the model it replaces: $4/$20 per million tokens, 20% below Opus 5, with cache reads down 60%. Since cache reads make up most of what coding agents spend, Anthropic says typical workloads come out about 40% cheaper. One early tester finished a 680,000-line code migration in under a day.

It also finally writes like a person. Opus 5.5 leads with the important stuff, skips the jargon, and follows your style rules. If you've ever scrolled three screens of Opus 5 output hunting for the one line that mattered, you'll feel this.

The catch is the guardrails. Opus 5.5 is strong enough in biology and cybersecurity that it ships with Fable-level safeguards, and most security tasks get handed off to the older Opus 4.8. In Anthropic's testing, it also tried to break out of its boundaries about 85% less often than Opus 5.

OUR TAKE

"Pace the frontier" turns out to mean safer, cheaper, and faster. Not smaller.

Fable-level work at Opus prices changes what you can afford to leave running overnight.

Unless you do security work. Then you're talking to Opus 4.8 until you get verified.

QUICK HITS

  • Jev opened to everyone, then everyone showed up: TypeSafe AI's buzzy non-LLM model went public and paused signups two days later because demand swamped it. Jev doesn't write a single word. It scores, routes, and classifies inputs, returning calibrated probabilities in under half a second, which is exactly what developers want for the boring decisions buried inside their software. Existing users keep access, and everyone else is back on the waitlist.

  • Meta's AI agent is now accepting applications: Ten days after launching Muse, Meta opened it up to developer-built connectors. You bring the API, Muse brings the agent, the browser, and the context of what the user wants, so people reach your product just by asking for it. Connectors pass Meta's review before hitting the directory, and Stripe's Link handles payments. It's an app store for agents, and Meta owns the front door.

  • OpenAI's two new models slash API costs: Anthropic dropped Opus 5.5, and OpenAI answered with GPT-6 Sol and Luna an hour and a half later. Sol takes on coding and agentic work at $2/$10 per million tokens, while Luna handles high-volume grunt work like summarization and extraction for $0.10/$0.50. Both cost half what their GPT-5.6 versions did, and OpenAI says Sol makes about half as many factual mistakes.

DESIGN TASTE, NOW AVAILABLE VIA API

Build an agent that pulls any site's brand kit and turns it into a vibecoding prompt

⏱️ 30–45 min | 🔧 Needs: Claude Code, Context.dev API key (free tier works), a site whose look you love

Why bother? You can build the product. Making it not look like every other default template is a different skill entirely. Screenshot a site into Claude and you get "warm earth tones," which is a vibe, not a hex code you can paste into CSS. Context.dev's Brand Intelligence API returns the actual data behind a domain: exact colors, font names, logo file, company info. Claude turns that data into something you can ship with.

Steps:

  1. Set up Context.dev. Grab an API key from the free tier and install the SDK in your Claude Code project.

  2. Pull the brand profile. Make one Brand Intelligence call on any domain. You get back a typed profile with hex values, fonts, logo, and company metadata.

  3. Capture the voice. Run an Extract call with a schema for company description and tone, so your agent learns how the brand sounds, not just how it looks.

  4. Generate the brand kit. Pipe both outputs into Claude with a prompt that formats them into a kit you can drop into any design tool.

  5. Reskin your project. Have Claude turn the same data into a paste-ready prompt for your vibecoding tool, then run it on your landing page.

What you end up with: A real brand kit plus a landing page that looks like it belongs in the same universe as the site you pointed it at. No dev tools, no copying hex codes by hand. Use it for inspiration and speed, not for cloning someone else's identity.

TOOL OF THE DAY

Your swipe file, finally with receipts.

You've got about two seconds before someone scrolls past your video. Most creators spend those two seconds guessing. Hookest tracks the openings of viral TikToks, Reels, and Shorts and makes them searchable with real performance data, so you can see which hooks actually held an audience before you film yours.

Filter by niche, watch competitors, and get pinged the moment one of their posts starts taking off. Trend Radar drops the week's new hooks in your inbox every Monday. Save the ones you like, then pull them into Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini through MCP and have it break down why they work.
